Your Hypnotist – Linda Kinsey
I began my adventure with hypnosis in 2000. While acting as a director of a Sales & Marketing Company, my partner and I noticed that our sales staff experienced a good degree of difficulty in maintaining any degree of continuity with their sales statistics. We would watch with frustration as the sales representatives would experience one or two months of impressive sales gains and closing ratios, only to fall into a slump and be unable to sell the product with any effectiveness. It seemed to us that the salesperson would not be doing or saying anything differently. Consistently, the potential prospects were equally as qualified. It was a dilemma!
Around the same time a certain motivational guru was popular. We always believed a great deal in motivating the staff, so I elected to take a course on the subject of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP. If you’re unfamiliar with NLP, it is related to and a tool for gaining Peak Performance in ones chosen field.
I attained certification as a practitioner of NLP in 2001. That course had ties to hypnosis, and by then I was hooked! I began searching for a quality hypnosis school to further my studies. I completed my hypnosis training and certification at the renowned Hypnosis Training Institute, in the San Francisco Bay area of California. I have returned to California several times to further my training and upgrade my credentials. I have attained the Level of Master Hypnotherapist, and am certified by the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners. 2009 brought me to the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapist Association, and in turn, to my certification in the specialty of Weight Loss. It should be noted that in 2012 the Government of Ontario disallowed the use of the term “Hypnotherapist” if the practitioner does not hold a degree in some other form of therapy, ie, Psychotherapist. To that end, I will be using the term “Consulting Hypnotist” as of January 1, 2013.
I maintain a strong desire to constantly upgrade the level of my expertise in my chosen field. As part of my continuing education, in the last two years I have added several new specialties and skill-sets to assist my clients. I have added certifications in HypnoBirthing and Sports Performance Enhancement and have added Chronic Pain Management and Hypno-Band (Gastric Mind Band) to my repertoire.
I continue to learn, to study and to grow. My personal belief is that we are largely untapped in our potential, and that our thoughts create not only our present, but our future. What are you thinking?
